CHARACTER'S NAME: Ukiyo Yuki
AGE: 17
BIRTH DATE: December 6th
HOMETOWN: Iwatodai
OCCUPATION: Student
GRADE: Third year high school
CLUBS: Track
SEX: Male
LEVEL: 7
PLAYED BY: Rokudo Mukuro of Katekyo Hitman Reborn!
WEAKNESSES: He tends to make situations worse even when he's trying to make them better. He'll try his hardest to reason with others, but because he thinks he's always right, it doesn't take him long to start questioning others peoples intelligence. He's very egotistical and thinks he's irresistible to everyone. He's a sucker for good looking ladies and often tries to show off around them, but it comes off as more laughable than anything. Even if he gets just a tiny cold, he's down for the count. His number one weakness is his constant running away from problems he faces instead of facing them head on. He'll do something wrong, but instead of maybe apologizing for it, he'll just ignore that problem thinking it's too late for him to apologize.
STRENGTHS: He's very determined. If you tell him he can't do something, he'll try his hardest to do it just to prove you wrong. He's got pretty fast legs and opts to run between places instead of riding a bike or taking the subway, so he's a pretty healthy guy. He's often very cheery and is good at making people laugh if they're having a bad day. He's really good with children, too, despite what some people may think. Since he has two younger brothers at home who he plays with, he really doesn't mind taking a time out to hang out with little kids.
WEAPON OF CHOICE: He just.. kicks stuff okay ):> He does Taekwondo that his uncle taught him.
PERSONA: Tsukumo-gami
PERSONA ABILITIES: Bufu, Bash, Tarukaja
WEAK; Agi skills
STRONG; Bufu skills
NULL/BLOCK; Nothing~
ABSORB; Nothing~
HIGH-EVADE; Nothing~
ARCANA: The Sun
FACTION S.E.E.S, but I can see him easily being swayed to another side.
PERSONALITY: Yuki is definitely not everyone's cup of tea. Sometimes when you see him, he might appear deep in thought or like he's brooding over something, but it's most likely a ploy to get you to notice him. As much as he loves just going over and talking to people, it makes him feel oh so special when someone talks to him first since this obviously means that they have interest in him and according to him, everyone should have interest in him. He can be loud and annoying like a little kid, but that's only part of his charm.
Even though he often appears very carefree, he actually has a lot going on in his mind regarding his family and future, however, he would never tell anyone this since it's none of their business. He will tell you if you're bugging him or are particularly stupid in his eyes. He wouldn't sound angry or anything when saying it, he would keep a smile on his face and just laugh. Even the times when he gets really angry, he still manages to keep his humor. He's the kind of guy that if you did something horribly embarrassing in front of him, would remember this forever and keep bringing it up for further embarrassment.
Though he's on the track team, he's not there because he has a huge interest in running, it's just that when he runs he can forget about everything that's going on around him. Plus, being on a school team always reflects well on the kind of person you are. Trying to be popular never hurt anyone.
BACKGROUND: Whoever said you couldn't run away from your problems had never met the Ukiyo family. That family had a history of just running away from what was causing them problems. A grandmother who ran away in the middle of the night from her abusive husband just after giving birth and a mother who was about to do the same, surely Yuki would eventually follow the examples of his family. At the age of 7 his then pregnant mother had already ran away from one husband to settle down with the one she had now. Not that life with this man was any better. It seemed as soon as she had met him, she was pregnant again, and this man didn't seem to happy about the situation. He already had a hard enough time with Yuki, there was no way he wanted another kid to look after. All kids did were get in the way of fun times he wanted to have with his wife.
So Yuki, being at an impressionable age, began feeling he really wasn't wanted by anyone but his mother. This man treated him the same as his father. Was this how men really acted? Yuki promised his mother that when he grew up, he wasn't going to be anything like that. His mother told him that no matter what happened in life, you always had the option to run away. Maybe this wasn't exactly the best thing to tell her 7 year old, but it was all the Ukiyo's knew how to do. And running away was what his mother planned to do after she gave birth to this baby she was carrying. She promised Yuki they would keep running until they were finally happy and he believed every word she told him.
Well, a few months later, Yuki's mother did end up giving birth to not one, but two healthy baby boys. Yuki was so thrilled to finally be a big brother. Even though they were only babies now, eventually, they would grow up and be able to play with him. His mother, on the other hand, had not been expecting to deliver two babies and had experienced complications during birth causing her to nearly bleed to death. After her pregnancy, she was a changed woman. Not in a good way, though. She became heavily depressed and refused to look after her children, a task which fell upon Yuki and his step-father. After a month, when it became apparent that Yuki's mother wasn't getting any better, the step-father immediately went out and began seeing another woman behind the mothers back. Yuki knew, though. He had seen them together as he looked out the window of their apartment.
A week before Yuki's eighth birthday, his mother over dosed on her anti-depressant pills. The woman that had promised him they would keep running until they were happy had left him all alone with his brothers. She had taken the same way out that most of the Ukiyo family chose to take instead of dealing with their problems. Just running away. That night he got that urge. The one that just told him to run and leave everything behind. Keep running until he was happy. And that's what he did. He ran out into the night, not sure where to go, but just wanting to run until he was happy again. That was when he saw it. All those coffins, all the blood. Was this really what it was like being happy? Scared witless, he ran over to an uncle's house who lived quite a bit away from his apartment. That's where he lay, right outside his uncle's door until his uncle found him the next morning, passed out.
After this incident, his uncle took Yuki and his brothers in, where they continue to live to this day. While growing up, Yuki explored the Dark Hour more and more, taking out whatever stray shadows were wandering around for fear that they might attack his family. He isn't exactly sure of what to make of the Dark Hour or his persona. He told his uncle and his brothers about it, but they told him he was most likely having a reoccurring nightmare. However, since the Dark Hour reminds him of the night his mother died, he wants to get rid of it.
His uncle slowly helped Yuki out of his depression since his mothers passing and taught him that instead of always running away, you should face your problems head on. While Yuki appeared to agree with his uncle, he still couldn't shake those words his mother had told him. Keep running until your happy.
Even now, with his fondness of life and his love for his friends and family, those words still echo in the back of his mind.
